Highlands Ranch Parkway Construction Update (Nov-Dec 2026)

Community Traffic Update · Week of Nov. 1

What to Expect as Highlands Ranch Parkway Construction Continues

Crews have completed the final traffic shift on Highlands Ranch Parkway between Broadway and Burntwood Way. Traffic is now in its permanent final alignment with no further lane shifts expected. Construction hours run Monday–Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.—expect daytime noise, check your map app before leaving, and allow extra travel time.

  • Lane Closures & Signal Holds (Nov & Dec): Crews will require intermittent lane closures for north-side concrete work and occasional traffic holds on the Parkway and nearby streets while installing new traffic signals through December.
  • North-Side Sidewalk Closed (Broadway to Burntwood Way): Concrete work closes the north-side sidewalk this phase. Walkers and cyclists should use the open south-side sidewalk (which also serves the Highlands Ranch Senior Center).
  • Ridgeglen Way Trail Closure: The bike and pedestrian trail connecting E. Highlands Ranch Parkway and Ridgeglen Way stays fenced off for the rest of the project. Do not enter or move barricades—follow detour signs to cross at Burntwood Way.
  • Safety Reminder: Slow down, watch for flaggers and posted signs, give workers plenty of room, and never follow work vehicles into coned zones. Official updates: Douglas County Public Works.
